April 17 – Proverbs 31:29

Proverbs 31:29 NIV
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass
them all.”
[husband speaking to wife]

“You surpass them all.” Wouldn’t it be great if
every husband thought his wife was the best
one? And if every husband knew how much
harder we work for his praise than as a result of
his criticism? I’ll bet right now you could name
specific times when Drew praised you for something
in the past. I know I can with Daddy! We
remember it! We work for it!

  1. Thanks, Mom! Sorry for the photo choice… I know that the basic feeding of a baby is not nobly going above and beyond.
But boy, would we all notice if it WEREN’T done! My life is filled up to overflowing with those types of things… This verse will have me thinking today.

You don’t ever have to apologize for putting a picture of one of my grandkids on my post! I don’t remember exactly how he said it, but Oswald Chambers said something like doing the everyday things faithfully every day is much harder than going out to slay dragons (VERY loosely paraphrased!). No adrenalin to get you going, no glory at the end of the day. But those things do give your kids and husband a sense of security, and when the kids are grown, they’ll look back and appreciate what you did. I’m still amazed at how my mom put three meals a day on the table, same times each day, on so little money. I’m still aiming for it!
