April 29 – Joshua 1:8

Joshua 1:8 NIV
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from
your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so
that you may be careful to do everything written
in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

The command comes with a pretty big promise!
God WANTS us to be prosperous and successful,
but not in a way that will ruin our hearts. We
are to know His Word, to think about what we’ve
read. Why? So we can DO it. So it can change
our hearts. Then prosperity is a blessing.

  1. This is a confusing area of teaching! Thanks for addressing it, Mom. Are you sure you don’t want to expand the “daily 3x5s” to “weekly 8.5x11s??” Some of these things need SO much more explanation, and I know you have it.
I do have a birthday coming up, you know… heheheh…

  2. Mom says:

I was thinking of doing something easier for your birthday — like making a king-sized quilt out of 1/4″ squares!
I’ll ponder your offer of a few 8.5x11s. Do you have any subjects you’d like to have addressed? I don’t mind cooking the meals, but making the menus is hard work.

  3. Oh… a quilt does sound nice! That would be a great thing to occupy all that spare time you have. 🙂
Um… let’s see, off the top of my head: how to be peaceful in the middle of daily stress, what is daily time with God supposed to look like, what to expect when we pray, how do we respond when people criticize us, how do we know there is really a heaven, how do we help the “poor,” is going to church important, what does being a Christian really mean…
Does that give a starting point?

Wow, Debbie, I appreciate your confidence in me, but……!! But I will try. You do realize I’m just your mama, right?!! But, as your mama, I’ll answer what I know. And I’ll be glad to. I have three months till your birthday!
