Smoke from Arizona Wildfire

I just wanted to add a quick picture from what’s going on in our corner of the world tonight:

smoky sky

That’s not rain or fog making the nearby mountains almost invisible. It’s ash.

There’s a wallow fire in Arizona that is sending a smoke plume our way. My husband, down in Albuquerque, says there is ash actually falling from the sky.

When I came in from letting the dogs out, my hands were grimy and my eyes stung like I’d been sitting next to a campfire.

It’s supposed to settle a little through the night and tomorrow morning, but it is tempting to just load up my asthmatic sons (and the girls) and start driving! Unfortunately, the smoke reportedly is reaching the Midwest now.

We will be staying indoors tonight!

Sending prayers for the firefighters working so close to all of this.
