June 7 – Isaiah 64:4-5

Isaiah 64:4-5a
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him. You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember Your ways.

This verse gets me thinking about something. Did God choose what kind of God He would be? Thinking about it gets me into stuff too deep for me! But often I find myself so grateful to Him for choosing (?) to be the kind of God He is. Here He not only hears us, but acts on our behalf. He comes to help us — if we believe enough to wait on Him, and if we act like He does. Again amazing — He is a God of mercy, justice, patience, forgiveness. Did He CHOOSE these characteristics? I don’t know; I’m just grateful!
