June 10 – Proverbs 8:4-7
Proverbs 8:4-7
To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding. Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.
We don’t hear much about prudence anymore. Is it because we don’t value it? The SOED says it’s “having or showing sound judgment in practical affairs; circumspect, sensible.” Does our culture value prudence? Do our movies? Or is it boring and prudish? I want to see through God’s glasses. And I want my heart to want what pleases Him.
