July 24 – Psalm 127:3-5

Psalm 127:3-5
Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.

I looked up “heritage.” “A gift which constitutes a proper possession.” Right now it’s easy to see him as a gift and reward, but it never changes. Take the time to train him well — and it does take time, sometimes when it seems like you don’t have it. But if you do, he will hit the mark when he “flies” from you. And your quiver full of kids will be your blessing and joy. Mine still are, even though they’ve flown the coop — or the quiver!
