August 15 – James 3:17
James 3:17 Amp
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to ] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned — free from doubts, wavering and insincerity.
I had planned on this verse following the July 23 “if any of you is deficient in wisdom” verse, but I forgot! I use it to test any “wisdom message” I think I’m getting. For me, it talks about my motives and it asks me if I’m trying to be manipulative. Is my heart, are my reasons “pure” and “straightforward.” And there are also several other tests of that wisdom. Wisdom for anything, but, in this case, we’re talking about guiding your children.
I think this is the last of the “children” topic, and now I want to honestly say that I have complete faith in you as a parent, Annie. In watching you work with other kids, I’ve seen amazing wisdom and creativity. My grandkids will be blessed!
