April 28 – II Timothy 3:1-5

II Timothy 3:1-5 NIV
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the
last days. People will be lovers of themselves,
lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without
self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God — having a form of
godliness but denying its power.

Not a particularly uplifting list, huh? But also
not a bad one to check your heart against once
in a while. What do you think that last part
means?

  1. Yes, this is a disturbing verse! For me, in order to have anything positive come out of it, I have to dwell on the opposites of all of these!
