June 9 – Proverbs 8:1-3
Proverbs 8:1-3
Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice: On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud:
The eighth proverb is intriguing to me, a little puzzling with a hint of mystery, but beckoning. Wisdom is portrayed as a woman that calls to us from very prominent places, but in verse 17 it says that those who seek wisdom find it (in the Amplified, it’s those who seek “early and diligently.”) And wisdom is portrayed as a woman, but verses 22 through 31 speak loudly to me of Jesus. But the benefits she promises to those who find her are definitely worth the search. In these verses here, it seems like wisdom is making herself so obvious, almost like she’s looking for you. What do you think that means, where the rubber meets the road?
