July 18 – Colossians 3:2

I didn’t want o get out of bed this morning. Every time I check, the forecast for the next week is 1 or 2 degrees higher. Now it’s up to 106-108 degrees. And the grasshoppers are destroying everything. Squash, corn, sweet potatoes. The peach tree and the lilac are completely defoliated, and they’re starting on the apricot. No! Not my apricot! But I did get up. And I went to church, which put my perspective back together again. We do live in this world, but it’s easy to get sucked into forgetting that it’s temporary. I can live above it. How are thing in my “eternal” world? Great! I can rejoice!

Colossians 3:2
And set your minds and keep them set on what is above — the higher things — not on the things that are on the earth.
