Summer Evening Reverie

Summer evenings make some of the most nostalgic memories.

We’ve been soaking up the evening play time, when the heat has relented a little, bedtime is still an hour or two away, and the light starts looking magical.

The kids love it… At least, I think they do. Sometimes I wonder about the littlest. But they all seem to enjoy themselves, in their own ways… even with no specifically planned activities.

Like sharing a summertime drink in the soft grass…

or working on a tractor that just won’t budge.

Wishing on dandelion seeds…

or wishing for leaves that are just out of reach.

Riding bikes…

or waiting to grow a little bigger.

No worries, buddy. Fun days for you are just around the corner!

I hope you’re enjoying these summer evenings, too.

Cooler days are just around the corner!

Wishing you a perspiration-free Wednesday.

Sweet post, Debbie. I’m starting to notice lighting! Cool pics.

Thanks, Mom! There are lighting problems here – phooey. But I like these pictures anyway because of how they make me feel. I wonder if I’d appreciate summer evenings so much if it were like that all day. Yesterday I’m sure the temperature was close to 115 degrees. It was 109 when I was out around 5pm.

I saw 115 on the car thermometer going from Annie’s house to yours. Today’s 95 feels hot, so it’s hard to believe that it’s twenty degrees cooler!!

A delightful post, Debbie…I am so happy that you all are finally HOME! May your little farm hold as many precious memories as our Tennessee and Colorado homes have for us. I’m so glad that you enjoy photography and share with us on the blog.

These pictures make me melt….it’s as if you can smell, hear and taste the day. The one of baby in the puddle looking frustrated….perfection. Lisa~
