My Birthday

This past week we celebrated my 35th birthday. Mom and Annie brought brunch one morning.

We ate gluten-free so Mom could enjoy everything, too. Annie made peach bread with a gluten-free flour. The texture was amazing!

Other happy things that happened this week:

– My husband made scrambled eggs and put smoked oysters in them. Unusual, but surprisingly tasty.
– The baby learned to push the gas petal on the battery-operated tractor. He has to stand up on it to accomplish this, so he looks like a real maverick/cowboy/safari hunter.
– We got a nice, much-needed rainstorm.
– My older son drew a picture of the “lower intestines” and the “higher intestines.”

– Our internet went down, and it was a surprisingly nice break, just for a little while.
– My husband assembled shelving for me so I can unpack a few more boxes. Organization can lift such a load off a person. With the new vertical storage, life is… looking up.
– We’ve planned our first trip to the zoo since we’ve moved.
– Life is falling into a more predictable rhythm – also much needed.

I hope all’s well with you and your families. Happy Wednesday!

Well, I wish you could have been there, too. We talked about what makes us happiest, and I would have liked to have heard… 🙂
