October 4 – Psalm 46:11
Psalm 46:11
The Lord of host is with us…
That verse ends with “Selah,” which the Amplified translates as “pause, and calmly think of that.” So….let’s! Immanuel — God with us. Came to Earth to be one of us; took on flesh to do it. If we went no farther, that would be totally amazing. Lives in us as His Spirit. We discover that this “being saved” isn’t just a mind thing or a now-you-can-go-to-heaven thing, but that an actual change happens in us. Something that was dead and unresponsive now is alive and can respond to God’s Spirit! And God is for us; on our side; longs to make our lives full, complete, abundant. He delights in us the very same way we delight in our children. Annie, picture God delighting in you the way you delight in your son. Neat, huh?!! One of the best reasons to have kids, I think is to begin to understand how and how much God loves us.
